A 3d Print of the creature I created in Ultimaker Cura. I used purple PLA filament with PVA support, allowing for higher surface detail since PVA is water-soluble.
During the final year of my undergraduate degree, I was the Creature Artist for a sci-fi short film called "Seeking Sanctuary". The main creature I worked on was called the Tarkiek, an alien tiger hybrid.
The brief stated that the creature model had to match the proportions of a tiger model which was being used for the animation blocking, so that the animation process was able to get underway while the model was being worked on.
My personal goal was to make it so that the creature was as anatomically correct as possible.
